Dr. Luikenaar has affiliations with several hospitals in Salt Lake County. She has admittance privileges to several institutions, however she works most often with the following.
University of Utah
Rixt Luikenaar, M.D., is an Adjunct Instructor in the University of Utah Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2004 and is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Luikenaar received her M.D. Cum Laude from the University of Groningen Medical Sciences in Groningen, The Netherlands (after finishing her second year in Law School).
She joined the University of Utah Faculty in 2003.
Dr Luikenaar spent several years in research at the University of Utah. In 1994 she worked for a year at the Artificial Heart Research Laboratory with Dr. William Kolff, inventor of the first artificial heart. From 1997/1999 she worked with Dr R.M. Silver and C.M. Peterson at the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This led to several publications and awards.
