About Dr. Luikenaar

Rixt A. Luikenaar, MD, FACOG, is the board-certified OB/GYN at Rebirth OB/GYN in Salt Lake City. She has been providing exceptional OB/GYN care for more than 15 years locally and abroad and takes a holistic approach to care, treating the whole person, not only the body part, disease, or symptom. Dr. Luikenaar has a special interest in transgender hormone therapy and LGBTQ health care, including pregnancy and preventive care.

Dr. Luikenaar received her medical degree from the University of Groningen Medical Sciences in Groningen, The Netherlands, graduating cum laude. She then went on to continue her residency training at West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Dedicated to her profession, Dr. Luikenaar completed DaVinci® Robotics training and is able to perform minimally invasive procedures using the most advanced tools. She performs many in-office procedures, including colposcopy, ultrasounds, and loop electrical excision procedure (LEEP). She also has privileges to perform surgery and deliver babies at The University of Utah Hospital and St. Mark’s Hospital.
